MAGELLAN'S CROSS, Magellan St. - Planted in April 14, 1521 by Ferdinand Magellan

FORT SAN PEDRO, Pier Area, Cebu City - The smallest, oldest tri-bastion fort in the country.

LAPULAPU MONUMENT, Punta Engaņo, Lapulapu City - Site where the battle between Mactan Island Chieftain Lapulapu and the foreign aggressor Ferdinand Magellan occured in April 27, 1521.

COLON STREET, Downtown Area, Cebu City - This is also known as Parian District, the oldest street in the Philippines built by the Spaniards during the time of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.

CAPITOL BUILDING, Osmeņa Blvd., Cebu City - The seat of the Provincial government, is of pre-war vintage and has the undulating mountains of Cebu for its background. Majestic and imposing, its high dome can be seen along Osmeņa Boulevard. A replica of the United States' White House.

CASA GORORDO MUSEUM, 35 Lopez Jaena St., Cebu City - Located in Lopez Jaena Street, is the home of the first Filipino Bishop of Cebu.

MACTAN ISLAND - A coral island and famous for scuba diving, where beach resorts of international standards are located. Also the site of the Export Processing Zone I.

OLANGO WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - Olango Island supports the largest concentration of migratory birds found so far in the country. Migration starts from the breeding places of birds in Siberia, Northern China and Japan.

KAWASAN FALLS - Located in Badian, one can feel the coolness of the surrounding lush greenery of this panoramic waterfalls.

NONOC CAVE - Located in Borbon, 8 kms. north of Cebu City, a very picturesque shelter for picnickers and bathers.

MOALBOAL, South of Cebu - Famous for beautiful corals and reefs, white sandy beaches, excellent for diving.

How to Get to Cebu?

There are 2 ways to go to Cebu. The first, and the easiest, is by direct flight. Direct flights to Cebu from abroad:

* Via Singapore. Singapore Airlines offers direct flights to and from Cebu

* Via Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific offers direct flights to and from Cebu. Also, Philippine Airlines offers direct flights Cebu-Hong Kong- Cebu.

* Via Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia Airlines offers direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, via Kota Kinabalu.

* Via Narita, Japan. Philippine Airlines flies direct Cebu-Narita and back.

* Via Osaka, Japan. Philippine Airlines flies direct Cebu-Osaka and back.

Philippine Airlines also offers daily it's "Cebu Express" program, linking Cebu directly with 14 international destinations. The system Airport tax for international passengers in Cebu is PHP 550.00.

The alternative of a direct flight is to fly to Manila and take a domestic flight to Cebu, or take a boat. The flight takes one hour and the boat ride takes about 20 hours.

All Ships offer a wide range of accommodations. There are special two person suites and staterooms, but also there are much cheaper first and economy class cabins. Food is often included in the ticket, all ships have restaurants, coffeeshops and/or bars and discos. Sailing on time, clean, organized and equipped with restaurants and entertainment make the passenger easily forget the 20 hours.
